Chico 29 Contact Connie @bcgainor@telus.net Three generations of the McCullough Family have ridden him. Jestic Page "Chico" was sold at one of the sales here at the TR Bar Ranch, Scott McCullough bought him for his son Darrel in1983,when Chico was a three year old. I believe they road him home along the Power line that linked the back of our two ranches. I found the old sales slip, Scott paid $950 at the time for him. He is by Sassmo and out of Page Paul, a buckskin (both stallions that belonged to Art), Paul Bette -Betty Bud mare that was used here at the ranch for years as a ranch horse, then retired to the broodmare band. Scott and Carol. and all four of their children, Darryl, Brad, Mary, Mike, have rode him as well. Darryl married and his wife Sherri gymkhanaed on him. They've used him for roping, cowboying, barrels, poles, stakes, goat tying, dobbing, undecorating. He's been a hunting horse and used for many brandings. He moved to the Sky Ranch when Scott and family moved there, then as the kids grew up married and bought places of their own he has ended up right back next door, on the same property he first went to! Chico has helped Scott and Carol's grandchildren to learn ride as well, Ty, Megan, (Darryl's) Tayler & Colby (Mike's) and Wyatt (Brad and Katie's) He now is the much loved horse of Tayler, Chico, along with the love and dedication of a wonderful Aunt "Katie" have given this young gal much help and encouragement to become quite the cowgirl. You can see her run Barrels at Maiden Creek Arena, though she now uses a younger horse. |
